Community Comes Together for Pure Beer Tasting Celebration

Showcasing Innovation, Collaboration, and Pure Water

The Pure Water Project Las Virgenes–Triunfo hosted another successful Pure Beer Tasting on October 30, 2025, at 14 Cannons Brewery in Westlake Village. More than 150 community members joined Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD) and Triunfo Water & Sanitation District (TWSD) for an evening that blended local craft beer, great conversation, and education about regional water sustainability.

Guests enjoyed Pure Kölsch beer, Pure spa water, and Pure lemonade, paired with catered BBQ fare. The relaxed, family-friendly setting encouraged meaningful conversations between residents, staff, and elected officials about how the Pure Water Project will strengthen the area’s drought resilience by creating a sustainable local water supply.

In attendance from LVMWD were President Andy Coradeschi, Vice President Jay Lewitt, Secretary Gary Burns, and Director Leonard Polan. Representing TWSD were Chair Leon Shapiro, Vice Chair Carl Jarecky, and Director James Wall.

During the program, Chair Shapiro and Vice Chair Coradeschi shared remarks highlighting the enduring collaboration between LVMWD and TWSD. Both emphasized the importance of innovation and partnership in addressing Southern California’s water reliability challenges while protecting the Malibu Creek Watershed.

Attendees also enjoyed the premiere of a new video tracing the Districts’ historical roots and celebrating their ongoing commitment to regional collaboration through the Pure Water Project. The film showcased how community partnerships and forward-thinking investments continue to shape a sustainable water future.

Guests included city leaders from Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Thousand Oaks, and Westlake Village, as well as representatives from Calleguas Municipal Water District, Camrosa Water District, and other regional partners. Many first-time attendees said they looked forward to future events, praising the welcoming format, educational displays, and opportunities to engage directly with project staff.

The evening concluded with raffle prizes, giveaways, and plenty of lively conversation — the perfect way to toast community collaboration and the shared vision of a resilient, reliable water future.

Guests left with a deeper appreciation for the connection between clean water and the vibrant community it sustains — and a toast to a future where every drop counts.
